Navigating Dietary Restrictions at the Shore
When dining with a food allergy, we ask that you notify an associate at the time of ordering. We rely on our vendors' allergy warnings and ingredient listings. Because ingredient substitutions, recipe revisions as well as cross-contact with allergens are possible, we cannot guarantee any food item will be completely free of allergens or gluten. To view ingredient and allergen statements please review our online menus or utilize the digital menu screens available at each station.
Milk Allergy
Breakfast:
- Overnight oats are made with Oatley brand non-dairy milk alternative, and do not contain milk ingredients.
- Plant-based mozzarella style cheese is available daily in this space.
- Traditional items such as bacon, sausage, eggs, and potatoes often omit milk in the cooking process. Please ask an associate or review the ingredients for each item on The Shore's online menu.
Lunch / Dinner:
- The lunch and dinner menus at Baja feature Latin-inspired bowls with a selection of rice, proteins, vegetables and toppings.

- Plant-based cheddar cheese is available daily

- At all meal periods Daybreak offers a variety of items, some of which do not contain milk or milk products.
- Fried items at the Daybreak station are cooked in a shared fryer and have a high risk of cross contact with milk containing products.
- We offer non-dairy, plant-based cheese alternatives as an option, upon request, for all specialty sandwiches at lunch.

- The Carolina Home Deli offers Violife plant-based cheddar style cheese alternatives at all meal periods.

Shellfish Allergy
- For all three meal periods, shrimp is a rotating protein on the menu. The shrimp is contained in its own pan with separate utensils, but there is a higher opportunity for cross-contact during the cooking and serving process.
- The Carolina Home Deli does not have shellfish on the summer menu and has limited opportunities for cross-contact.

- The Baja station has a fryer dedicated to only cooking chips; there is low risk of cross contact during the cooking process, however, because the chips are a self-served item, there is a higher risk of cross contact. You are able to ask an associate for chips from our backup supply.
- Due to the use of shared fryers, consuming fried items at Daybreak is not recommended.
- Fish and fish-containing products are not served on the summer menu at the Daybreak station for breakfast or lunch.

- The tortilla chips at the Baja station are cooked in a fryer dedicated only to them, though they are a self-served item which raises the risk of cross-contact from other guests.

Soy Allergy
The vegetable oil that we use as our standard cooking oil may contain soy as an ingredient. This product has been verified as safe for consumption for individuals with soy allergies. For stations where items are cooked to order, extra virgin olive oil is available to be used upon request.
- The Baja station limits the use of soy as an ingredient at all meal periods. It is most commonly found in the plant-based meat alternatives at each service. Risk of cross-contact between those items and other menu offerings is low.

Egg Allergy
- At breakfast the Baja station serves a traditional breakfast that includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, and grits. While there is a risk of cross-contact on the service line, an associate can build you a plate with items from our backup products upon request.
- The lunch and dinner menus at Baja limit the number of items that use egg as an ingredient.

Gluten / Celiac / Wheat Allergy
- The Baja station has a menu designed without gluten containing ingredients.
- At breakfast you can find overnight oats featuring Bob's Red Mill certified gluten free oats, along with traditional bacon, eggs, grits and potatoes.
- During lunch, Baja features Latin-inspired bowls with rice as a base, and a variety of proteins, vegetables, and toppings. Tortilla chips at the Baja station are cooked in a fryer dedicated to items that are made without gluten.
- Daybreak will always have UDI's buns available upon request if you would like a burger, or one of the featured sandwiches at lunch.
- At dinner, options made without gluten will vary. It is recommended to ask an associate, utilize digital menus or view our online menu.
- Chicken tenders are available upon request and will be cooked in a dedicated gluten free fryer to reduce the risk of cross-contact.
- Due to the use of shared fryers, consuming fried items at Daybreak has a high risk of cross-contact, with the exception of the made without gluten chicken tenders.
- The Carolina Home station offers a selection of breads, wraps and bagels that are made without gluten; including Konto's wraps, and UDI's sliced bread and bagels.
- The made without gluten breads are stored in a separate space to reduce the risk of cross-contact, and a separate toaster is available if you would like your sandwich toasted. An important note, the toaster does take slightly longer, and the associate may ask that you wait at the end of the station while your sandwich toasts.

Plant Based Dining
Within the Shore, we make it a priority to offer a variety of fruit and vegetable-based dishes prepared without animal-based ingredients. For all stations that offer an animal-based protein, we will always have a plant-based alternative.
- At breakfast, the Baja station offers MorningStar Ground Chorizo that can be added to your breakfast bowl.
- During lunch and dinner, Baja has a variety of rotating sauteed or roasted vegetables, and bean options. Bowls can be topped with plant based avocado crema, plant-based cheese and a large selection of fresh vegetables and salsas.
- Daybreak serves a variety of sandwiches at both breakfast and lunch.
- Breakfast biscuit sandwiches (vegetarian only) are made with Just Egg, Violife non-dairy cheddar cheese and depending on the menu rotation they may also include Morning Star Farms Plant-Based Sausage Patties.
- Lunch sandwiches will always include a vegetarian or fully plant-based option that may include but is not limited to Beyond Burgers, Portobello "cheese steaks" and plant-based chicken tenders.
- Dinner menus rotate daily, offering a different entree each day. These may be fully plant-based or just vegetarian. We recommend speaking with an associate, utilizing digital menu screens or viewing our online menu.
- If you see an item at Daybreak breakfast or lunch in a green basket, this indicates that the item is either vegetarian or fully plant based.
- During breakfast we have a variety of bagels available that do not contain animal-based ingredients. Enjoy "sausage, egg and cheese" bagels that include Just Egg plant-based patties, Violife sliced cheddar cheese, and Morningstar Incogmeato sausage patties. Top these with veggies, avocado, hummus, or our plant-based sriracha mayonnaise!
- For lunch and dinner, you can choose any of our breads as a base for a fresh veggie sandwich, with a selection of spreads that include avocado, hummus and plant-based sriracha mayonnaise.
- Done Well is a daily rotating menu that always has a vegetarian or fully plant-based option available. Due to the rotating nature of the menu, it is recommended to ask an associate, utilize digital menus or view our online menu.
- At breakfast Everything Bowl offers a made-to-order omelet bar. For guests who do not include eggs or dairy in their diet, we offer Just Egg products. Choose from a variety of fresh veggies and plant-based cheese alternatives for a delicious scramble.
- During lunch and dinner we switch to a menu that rotates between Poke, Pho, Caribbean, and Mediterranean inspired flavors. Each of these menus provides a selection of beans, legumes, fresh vegetables, plant-based sauces, tofu or other plant-based meat alternatives. Please ask an associate, review our digital or online menus for ingredient information.
- The Hearth is our pizza, pasta and salad station. We currently do not offer pizzas with non-dairy cheese alternatives.
- When pasta dishes are served, a vegetarian or fully plant-based option will be available as well.
- The salad bar at the Hearth does not currently offer a plant-based cheese, however we do always have it available. If you would like shredded plant-based cheddar or mozzarella for your salad, please ask an associate and they will be happy to get that for you.
- Our desserts rotate regularly; depending on the menu there may be plant-based cookies, brownies, or fresh fruit sorbets available.
- We always offer Red Plate muffins and cookies that are free of the Top 9 allergens, serving as a good option for those who do not include animal-based foods in their desserts. These can be found at the Carolina Home station.
Peanut / Tree Nut Allergy
As of December 2025, The Shore facility has been Certified Free from peanuts and tree nuts. If you have questions about specific items you may see, do not hesitate to ask staff to see the package.
